- YOKOSUKA, Japan -- The U.S. Navy and Indian navy, including observers from Mauritius
and Madagascar, will take part in a multinational search and rescue exercise off the East
Coast of India Dec. 12-15, 2001. Operating from Goa, India, the U.S. Navy will be represented
by a P-3C patrol and reconnaissance aircraft and crew, while Indian navy participation will
include a Sea King helicopter and a surface ship. During the exercise, participants will
practice coordinated and integrated maritime surveillance and search and rescue procedures
in realistic operations at sea.
